History
The Manchester Terrier, also known as the Black and Tan Terrier, has a long history dating back to the 15th century. Originally a rat catcher, it became very popular in the late 19th century.The breed was used in rat fights, and the ears were cropped to protect them during the fights. After World War II, the breed was almost extinct, but dedicated fans managed to save it.
