The breed has developed over time, and the modern Gordon Setter received its final design in the 1890s. In 1927 The British Gordon Setter Club was formed to promote and protect this wonderful breed.

This black-clad beauty has deep, lustrous black hair with no rust tones, and is adorned with dazzling auburn (tan) markings. The toes have permissible black markings, and a black line under the jaw gives it a distinctive appearance.
