Look

The Chinese Crested is a small, active and elegant dog with medium to fine bone stock. It comes in two types: the flatter and small-built type (deer type) and the denser type (cobby) with a heavier body and bone stock. The hairless variety has a smooth, furless body with tufts of hair on the head, socks and a tuft of feathers on the tail. The powder puff variety has a body covered in soft, long hair.

The Chinese Crested is happy and never aggressive. The breed has an alert expression and shows intelligence and stability in its behaviour. It is a company dog and thrives in human company.

Health

The Chinese Crested is generally a healthy breed, but like all dogs, they can be prone to certain health problems. It is important to follow up on recommended veterinary visits and maintain good skin and teeth care.

Size and weight

The breed has an ideal withers height of 28-33 cm for male dogs and 23-30 cm for bitches. The weight varies, but should not exceed 5 ½ kg.
