The Bolognese has a rich history as a sought-after companion dog in Italy. It has been popular among finer families since the 12th-13th centuries. Both Madame Pompadour and Catherine the Great of Russia had a strong commitment to the breed.

The Bolognese has a naturally white and fluffy coat that should not be cut. The fur should be airy and not lie flat on the body. Regular brushing and grooming is necessary, especially during the transition from puppy fur to adult fur.Male dogs should be between 27-30 cm, while bitches should be between 25-28 cm. The weight of the Bolognese should be around 2.5-4 kg.

Health
